About ATI HD 5850

I've just a bought an ATI 5850 . My motherboard doesnt have pci express 2.0 slot ,I know it works on my pci express x16 slot, but does the 5850 take advantage of the pci express 2.0 bandwidth? Would the card get higher performance from getting a motherboard with a pci express 2.0 slot?

A PCI-E x16 1.1 slot is fine for any single GPU card. You are fine.

check this out. pci e 1.1 16x is the same as pci e 2.0 8x. You'll get like 1% performance drop.
