4890 overclock is it safe?

So i installed new bios drivers for my gigabyte x58 ud3r motherboard and I tried overclocking my msi 4890 (stock overclock 900/1000) and I managed to hit 1000/1150!!!!!!!!!!! the speeds at that clock are crazy I manage to out perform a gtx 285 and almost equal performance of the 5850 at stock, but I am worried that this may kill my card. I had some micro stuttering issues with dawn of war 2 but it turned out to be the lan connection. The fans are at 50% and the temp never goes over 70c and i havent done any voltage tweaks, so should I be worrying. The extra 5-10 fps in games can make the world of difference in some cases.

is that really true? cuz futuremark is rather short (i'm using 3d vantage) and it passes, but i get random system crashes.... only problem is that i switched to Windows 7 and a new HD5770 at the same time so i can't tell which is causing the crashes.

    I OC'd my card from 850/1200 to 910/1400
  3. well i assume that anything that runs it at 100% is good so i played crysis for a couple of hours earlier today and it worked out fine. I did lower it down to 1000/1100 just for the sake of more comfort. Temps are always the same though, 60c idle 70c load.

Forget if it's true or not.....does it even make sense?

The lack of literacy on this site is astounding. People who build computers but can't write a complete sentence is amazing to me.

read carefully, he meant ------run futuremark if it passes that, its totally stable--------
  5. Monitor GPU temps while running benchies and games.....if within spec, it's cool.

He has issues alright. Hooked on phonics also has a forum for people with issues.

You should join him there, since you cannot even SPELL grammar.

I don't expect perfect grammar, but I do expect a sentence that makes sense. Maybe at least starting the sentence with a capitol letter would be a good start. lol

Um that would be capital* hot shot. Practice what you preach.
