Hello, I just built a new system and as I already understand, after major hardware changes, XP usually needs to be reinstalled. The system gets the blue screen of death when I try to boot off the old XP install. I tried to run the XP set up booting off the install disc and it seems to be extracting the install files and preparing to run the installation but then it gets to one point where it freezes. A few times after waiting to see if it would load it bluescreened.

I have a p55 evga mobo (lga 1156), intel core i7 820, 4 gbs G skill ram, 1 TB Seagate, 2 x 320 GB seagates, and a HD 4890. All drives are using SATA.
I know the hardware is not faulty as I am currently booted off a Fedora disc. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I've tried 3 different XP discs, one that was base install Service Pack 1, two with SP3 slipstreamed.

Try reformatting the destination hard drive first

The terabyte drive was formatted. Whether the hard drive has anything on it or not should not effect whether the windows installation works.
