Wd external hard drive how to purge

Hello, we have a WD 600gb 2.0 "MY BOOK". It is stating that its memory if full. It shows seperate "groups" like, VIDEO, PICTURES, MUSIC, etc. and you can "select" any or all by checking a box. What we want to do is delete/clean out these on this external drive show it now has more memory but we can't figure how to do it? (Sorry, but we are "older" and not very computer literate). PS - Reading the HELP option leadas me to believe we can deelete ALL but do not have the option to select particular topics/groups.....

Right click on an object should give an option to delete.
