Gigabyte G1.Sniper.2 with 3770K

Hello

I have the Gigabyte G1.Sniper.2 Motherboard

I then purchased from Ebay the 2600K where the person had claimed that this specific 2600K would hit 5.0 ghz with no problem (on his Asus Maximus 4) . But when I installed it in my Gigabyte G1.Sniper.2, the most we could get out of it stable was 4.6ghz. Which leads me to believe that it is the Gigabyte G1.Sniper.2 that is holding it back.

Now I would like to upgrade to the 3770K & I wanted to know if anyone out there has this combo of Gigabyte G1.Sniper.2 and 3770K & what they were getting with their Overclocks if it is possible to get the 3770K to 4.6 ghz too.

OR

If someone has with 2600K & has OC to 5.0ghz & could somehow give me help wo get stable at 5.0ghz

Just as FYI
I have high end Water cooling
16GB Corsair Dominator GT 2133mhz
Corsair 850W "Gold" certified power supply
2 ATI 4670 Video Cards (not in Crossfire)

So I dont believe any of the other components are holding me back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

i doubt it, the seller probably lied tbh, are you putting the maximum reccomended voltage (i cannot find it atm)

You'll have to go above 1.4V to get a stable 5ghz, something like 1.45 which is really close the max voltage of 1.52.

Both boards have 8 phase CPU power design too.

Thank you for your replies.

With the 2600K I have put the Voltage up to 1.5 Volts & no matter what we did we could not get it stable at 5ghz, got it to boot into Windows. Maybe someone else could.

But thats ok, what I would really like to know is if anyone has this specific mobo with 3770K & if they were able to get to 4.6ghz
