Hi folks,

A long time lurker here...

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next 2 weeks. BUDGET RANGE: Ideally 650 shipped but cheaper would be better.
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Playing Wow, Left4Dead, Half Life 2, Surfing, DreamWeaver/Fireworks, Hulu, Netflix.
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, Speakers
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com but open to other places. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: US
PARTS PREFERENCES: Probably AMD for price. Been looking at AMD Phenom II X2 550 and AMD Phenom II X3 720
OVERCLOCKING: Maybe, SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe
MONITOR RESOLUTION: Probably 1440x900, Flatron L 196WTQ BF monitor by LG

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I've priced this out to ~638 before shipping or 670 with shipping. I have a FRYs nearby, so some of the parts like the hard drive and ram I can probably get locally w/o shipping. While crossfire/sli are interesting, not a huge concern right now... mostly just looking for a mobo that can get up to 16gb of ram, and that has the potential for a dual vid card in the future. Check out what I've found so far. Any comments are extremely welcome!! Thanks!

You could get a 500 GB HDD for $55 on newegg and save $15

The Hard drive he was referring to was either http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... which is always out of stock or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... which is just as good, but both are 55 and sometimes you can find the seagate for 50. Both are better than the WD black drive you chose.

I know you said that crossfire wasn't a big concern, but the board you have will not run sli very good because its x16/x4 if you wanted a board you would have to go up to around 100 dollars for x8/x8. This board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... will run at x8/x8 in sli and is 90.

And just remember with the antec neo eco power supply you will need a power cord either use the one off your old computer or buy one, usually about 5 bucks.

^ the mobo he chose was better in overclocking and is cheaper. You can't sli on 770 anyways and his gpu is powerful enough for gaming so sli is not needed. 1400x900, gts250 is good for 1600x900 with max settings.(not crysis)

I just didn't want him to think he would be able to sli on the board he chose because it has 2 pcie slots.
