Four universal waterblocks for your 6870 X2, they would fit onto each of the GPU's. You would just have to buy sepearte VRAM heatsinks, mosfet heatsinks, etc. etc.

I'm after a full tower so I like the first one considering the rest were Mid Tower, the Xigmatek also has a nice finish, similar to the 800D except with a nice large side fan :D

Ah nice, I was actually after something like that considering I couldn't find any specifically for the 6870x2. Got a link that I can use a reference? Thanks in advance.

Not if you only want overclock it higher, in daily use HT is perfectly enable and usable but in OC is better "less" cores for a higher frequency.

Ive got my 3570k to 4.5ghz on OFFSET mode and max voltage 1.200, ive used prime 95 and done alot of gaming and it seems stable? is the a good voltage then?

Like I said, I'm a voltage chicken.

I ran a few load tests when it was bone stock and found ~1.2v to be the "stock" voltage. 4Ghz seems to be the fastest it will go with that voltage.

If I was sure I wasn't reducing the lifespan of the chip, I would.

I will probably upgrade in the next 4 years, but I don't want to be forced into it by a CPU that starts getting gremlins.

Honestly, that's what the warranty is for. You can get the Performance Tuning Protection Plan, like I did, just to be absolutely safe, but really, there's no way for Intel to know that that you fried your chip from OC'ing, if you don't tell them. :ange:

These chips have a lifespan of what like 15 years or something crazy. Overclocking will cut this down to something like 10 years. It is really minimal.

yes under prime load the temps are really high but i think it’s still a problem with my airflow! It can be solved. :pt1cable: 
My personal challenge was to get a H80 into the itx case and still keep all case fans into it! I have choosen the option with only 1 fan because otherwise there would be no space for the graphic card!

So after taking some of yours and amuffin's hardware advice I finally got it all together. This took me almost 10 days to finish due to some hiccups along the way and having to go away for the weekend, but anyway irrelevant :) 

Pictures below of the project... and there is more to come, next I'll give the GPU water blocks a go and I've ordered a 250mm res and mounts to have it installed inside along with some additional accessories just so I can have a play with the flow inside the res. Thanks for the help again and enjoy the pictures.

Thanks. I dont see any problems as of yet though. I have seen some people with thiers up to 107 and I even seen one guy with a blck of 111. I know with the thermal armour I have I get extremely low temps and have a pretty good board with 5 year warranty so I should be ok and if the chip blows Id kind of be ok with that as well only cause im looking at the new ivy brigde chip anyways. Although I did take your advice and change it back to 100.0. I dont really need to push it any more than what it is. I mean 4.6 with a 2nd gen on a 3rd gen board is pretty good I would think. Although when I tried to get 4.9ghz out of it I gotthe bsod. When I dialed it back to 4.8 I was fine all except it was hotter than what I preferred. 79c is a bit hot for my liking. But with this little h50 I have I get around 59c on prime 95 for over 2 hours clocked at 4.6, But my new build is in the process and I should have some fun with a new ASUS Maximus V board with the 3770k. I know most people say i5 3570k is more than enough but I like video editing and I love the hyperthreading features in certain cpu hungry programs. Anyhow thx for the advice. The longevity of my board and chip deends on tips like this one

From what I've read and understand, the BCLK on Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge chips are linked to PCI-E, SATA, etc, so, when you tinker too much with it, you could potentially corrupt everything.

Correct, the BCLK is linked to all those options including RAM frequency that's very important too. But one thing is say that overclocking the rig with BLCK is bad for the PC and other totally different is say what you say.

1) Using BLCK ISN'T bad for the rig, if you know the limits and don't go above that.
2) BLCK is limited for that same reason, in normal conditions (air-watercooling) I have not seen any BLCK above 160MHz and not for long time periods.

All we know that overclocking always means risk, but if your can't handle that, get a locked CPU and save a few buck in your wallet.

^ Yes it is. Depending on how forgiving your board and components are, a BCLK over 105 or so can cause data corruption on the SATA bus, USB device failures, and PCIe card instability. If you're lucky, you may be able to push it to 107-110. I've never seen anyone above 110 on a SB or IB system. SB-E, yes, but not SB or IB.

The simple fact is though, that you don't even need to touch the BCLK with a K CPU. No reason at all. It's pointless.

That is something that I didn't think was even possible. 160, even for short periods should cause major issues, from everything that I've ever seen. Say goodbye to your USB ports...

Usb and SATA ports... they are very sensitive to anything above 110.

Actually I have seen some impressive blck's of 133 which were 100% stable. I did lower mine after reading about what is controlled by blck. which is almost everything. But if your using hih end parts, You would think there would be some lee-way in making the clock work for you. I mean why else would they have let us config it if it was that bad. Any type of OC can be bad but from what I have seen in my own overclocks is that a slight increase to the blck does make my numbers in benchmarking quite a bit higher. Although I cant see myself pushing the bar to 133 or even 160. I cant see the problem in going up a slight bit for some measurable performance gains though. I do have a five year warranty on my Sabretooth and I am looking at getting a new z77 K series chip so I might just try a bit higher. But anyone who overclocks potentially puts themslves at risk to fry something or other. You just have to try increments to find your stable point and with all the thermal radars on my board and none of the temps exceeding 40c. I think I am safe where I am

Just raise the CPU multiplier by 1 or 2 (or however many to equal what you would get from the BCLK OC) and you've accomplished the same thing and more stably.

It just doesn't make any sense to OC the BCLK.

We are agree, but say that is "bad" for the PC isn't the best word.
