Dell inspiron 8000 laptop

On my grandson's Dell Inspiron 8000 the screen is weired.Sort of sectioned apart heavy lines faint picture...Works AOK on extenal moniter..Any Ideas.

If external video works like you'd expect, the most likely scenario is that the LCD panel on the display needs to be replaced.

I've used www.parts-people.com in the past a few times with good results. Your mileage may vary, but I prefer this over buying something off eBay even if it means paying a little more.
