Compare core i3 vs dual core

Hi, i want to purchase core i3, my current process is dual core,

is corei3 better than dual core

Yes and i3 can be OCed to over 4.2GHz easily and I have heard peoples achieve 4.8GHz on AIR cooling.

However, I would not recommend you upgrade to an i3 if you have an E8400 or better CPU.

I3 is a dual core, but it's currently the most powerful dual core. Depending on what you currently have and what you use your computer for would depend on whether it's worth upgrading or not. If you've got a 4.0Ghz C2D than you won't see much benefit going to I3.
