Hello, The metal thing on top of this controller has fallen off. The little metal things to hole the top on fell off. is this a problem.

It's a heatsink. and the heatsink must be there, or the chip will overheat. You can buy a replacement which is designed for that board.

Thank you but the little hooks on the MB, that the heatsink hook on to, are gone. Do I need a new MB or can this be fixed?

You should, what is the model of your mobo?
Theres are also stick-on solutions if you cant find the parts.
