I assume that you performed a CLEAN INSTALL of XP. Next you will need to install all of the correct DRIVERS for your MOBO, and lastly your Peripheral DRIVERS. Therefore, go to the appropriate websites; also, if your system came with XP installed more than likely you "should" have received a [Driver CD/DVD] (I prefer to get the latest versions from the web).

Be careful, if you get into the Device Manager and Right-Click to obtain drivers.

After that's all done reinstall MS Office with your original installation CD/DVD. You'll need to do the same (reinstall) with ALL of your Applications...
