hi everybody

i wanna buy a laptop but i am stuck at choosing cpu model

i use laptop for running virtual machines [vmware], emulators[gns] and some gaming

i wanna get a laptop under $1000

so will i7 620 dual core or i7 720 quad core will do the perfect job

does virtual machines like vmware, emulators like [gns] perform better on quad cores than dual cores

do they support multiple processors

battery life is not going to be an issue

also what about i5 520, 540 vs i7 620

what is performance increase of i7 620 over i5 top ends

thanks in advance

Dell gets the latest Intel cpus first. Check them out and go with 4 gb of ddr3, whatever cpu you can afford. Lenovo is also a good brand.

I tried out one while in flight recently to San Jose and asked an engineer about it. He loved it. I used to work at IBM so I was curious. The Chinese haven't changed IBM product design too much for a reason. Many people like their old IBM products.
