Crossfire 2 different ATI cards?

I have an dual slot HIS 4850 HD IceQ Edition, and my friend just got a 5850 and no longer wants his single slot Asus 4850 (The Original really hot ones). He says it runs quite hot when running games (99 degrees Celcius) but still works just fine. Can I crossfire my dual slot and his single slot in my machine? Also if something goes wrong with his single slot will it mess up mine?

Yea you should be able to CF then with no problem.

Just try to keep them cool.

Bout the only things to worry about are cooling and your power supply.

it will work fine ( most of the time ) but you may face some driver issues, and both cards must be the same series ( eg. hd 3000, hd 4000 ... as you have now ), so if you intend for any future upgrade you will have to change both .....
