My friend's crappy emachines pc died (heat sink clip broke off). I was thinking of buying a new mobo, cpu, RAM, and case and re-using the existing PSU, DVD-ROM, and Hard Drive w/ Windows XP.

Here's the motherboard I was looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128388

And the CPU: Either this one...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116265
or this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116072
Please help me decide on which of these cpu's is better.

My main question is: Will I be able to use the old hard drive (with Windows XP already installed) with the new hardware or will there be problems? It is IDE (the mobo I selected has an IDE slot so we're good there.)

- Thanks

Changing the motherboard will require re-installing the OS.

e5200 CPU will be about 7% faster than the Celeron e3200.
