It has to be the 5770 then if those are the choices, the GT9800 is the same GPU as the 8800GTX albeit overclocked a bit
so its old technology even though its quite good for a full SLI rig, and the 5770 is much better than both of those NV cards.
What youve got to remember though is that whatever card you buy is dependent on the size of your screen, so if you have
a 24` screen the 5770 only has a 128 bit memory bus so its not going to be very efficient at the higher resolutions, so if you
have a screen bigger than say 20` i wud forget about the cards you just mentioned and hit the beans on toast for a week
and save up a bit more money for a 5850 then you wont have to worry about graffix and upgrades for a very long time.
  2. umm..............its gonna be 1080p 52" screen lol
  3. The 9800GT is the G92 core, the 8800GTX is the G80 core, not the same core.

Stiffex, don't suggest cards way out of OP's range, 5770 is $20+ out of his range & 5850 is $180+ out of his range.

Out of those I would get the 5750, performs much better than the 9800GT & is par with the GTS 250. Plus it has DX11 & Eyefinity.
  4. ^+1 for 5750
  5. the only different i see between the 5750 VS 5770 is 100 mhz difference in core clock and 80 units in stream processing

which one do overclock better? (GTS 250/5770/5750)

and what does stream processing unit do? (be gentle,im a noob :D)
  6. Stream Processors are like Cores in a CPU, of course you have other parts like cache, etc but now with mostly-unified architecture SP's do the bulk of the processing.
So the 5750 vs 5770 is sort of like a tri-core vs a quad-core CPU.

If you can get the 5770 then get it, offers a nice bonus in performance.

    thanks,that clear up alot :D
how well does 5750 overclock though?
  8. It overclocks quite well for a GPU, make sure you get a active cooler (the normal cooler or better) as another poster bought a passive cooler that overheated a lot.
It's quite easy to over clock with ATI's CCC, go to the OverDrive window & click the key. Then you can either change the clocks manually & test or use the auto-tune feather.
  9. thank,i guess i can start ordering part :D
  10. No problem, tell us how it goes.
  11. after some research,it turn out that its nearly impossible to install a 5750 driver on a 64 bit win7, is this true?
