Hello,
I have purchased the antenna for use with Window XP --- it is installed and was working and generating strong signal and fast connection. Now I see the bars but they won't light up and when refreshing the locations it doesn't recognize stations which I know or there and of course won't connect.

I take it you mean a wireless network card and not an antenna? Try reinstalling the drivers for it.
