Hi, My freind is going to buy a 5770 with money he recieved from Christmas. I have a 512mb 4850 Vapor X with one 6pin PCIe connector needed. My friend also has a Sapphire 4850(not vapour-x) which needs one 6 pin PCIe.
My current PSU has only 1 6-pin PCIe connector which is plugged into my 4850. I thought that maybe I could crossfire these two 4850's together but would have to use a molex adapter. I have an adpater for 2 molex's to go into one PCIe connector, and another adapter for 1 molex to go into one PCIe connector.

Would I be able to use a molex adapter safely for crossfire, and should I use the 2 molex or 1 molex adapter.

My PSU is a CiC 750w PSU (Bought it at a local store, Maybe I shoulda bought a real brand :S)
It says on the box:
AC Input: 230VAC 10A 50 ~ 60Hz
DC Output Max:
+3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2 -12V +5VSB
28A 30A 20A 20A 0.3A 2.5A

Thanks for any help guys. I am a bit of a noob at PSU's.

Based on usable power, you have a 500 watt PSU. Two 4850's need about 20 amps of 12 volt power.

Yes, you can use an adapter if your PSU has adequate 12 volt capacity. It is not the preferable solution, but in your case, the adapter should work.

Based on usable power?
How did you work that out and does that mean that it's really a 500w PSU and I got scammed?

Thanks for the reply, it would just be a temporary solution till I get a new one.

Another thing - Will I be able to use any molex cables? or should I use ones that are not connected to anything else like a fan?

Why? Is there any difference between the two?
