Please Help :)
My original build was $2500 but i had to pay for my car so it drop to $900-$1000. I live on Hawaii so there is no free shipping.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Maybe before the end of December, which is soon
BUDGET RANGE: $900 -$1000 maybe a little higher- the reason I cant go higher is because Hawaii has no free shipping
-combos and rebates would be helpful

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, school work(office), general use

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor(maybe), speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: I can't decide between an Intel i5-750, amd phenom II x3, or amd phenom II x4 955 build
Help choosing good video card

IDK what case
NZXT M59 - 001BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146058
or
APEVIA X-DREAMER3-BK Black Metal ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144253
or
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021
-Combos would be helpful and rebates

OVERCLOCKING: Yes
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: I have 1280x1024 but If I can fit a better one in the budget then Ill pick it up too. If cant then Ill wait a few months to purchase one.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'm gonna purchase Windows 7 at a store.

So basically I was thinking about either one of tecmos34 $800 budget amd or Intel build OR possibly his $1200 amd or Intel build (if I can stretch it to that much) from his thread

I have question about Windows 7 - If I purchase home premium retail in the store, is it cheaper than buying off of newegg??? I'm a student is there a discount for store purchase.
-------I might have to get W7 instead of the monitor

^ That is a good build but need some changes
1. Mobo and PSU
The mobo that you have will not support x8x8 crossfire(Will run 2 cards only at x16x4 config and not x8x8)So the 2nd card will be crippled by the x4's low bandwidth. So this will remove the possibility of the 2nd card, hence you wont need a 750W PSU...A quality 500W would do...
So either change the mobo or PSU...

2. This RAM would be better as it operates at lower voltages...

3. DVD - NO to IDE drive...Instead get a SATA - Thinner cable - less clutter...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106335

4. CASE -
Save money going with NZXT...that case is pretty decent for the money...
they used it in the TOMS Build and dint have any major issues...

So this will be my final build thanks everyone for the advice. Please leave feedback
*I'm also looking to overclock.
*And aux I wont being doing CF, so there is no need to get a higher PSU because Ill would have to change my MOBO in which I'll probably go way over my budget. Thanks though.

*It's either between the Monitor or getting a bigger PSU and better MOBO in order to crossfire. My current monitor is kind of terrible and getting old.

I actually purchased this card - xfx hd 5850 black edition
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150454

O I also never included the monitor in my purchase because my friend works at a store where I live and he'll give me a good discount.
I wish Hawaii had free shipping :(
