$600 Performance all-purpose desktop

I'm looking for some feedback on my selections (if possible). I already have a full ATX case. I have a 1280x1024 monitor that will be used to "tide" me over for now. I have a new Antec BP550 Plus 550W power supply. Here it goes... thanks in advance !

Looks pretty good. There would be a few things I'd change, but for the most part it looks good. I'd consider getting this HD for $15 less ($55 shipped):

It's been getting good reviews and if you want to stick to 500gb's than this is probably the one to get.

If you want to save a bit more, I'd consider this CPU/Mobo combo (same CPU you selected) for $246 - $10 MIRc = $236, a savings of ~$20:

Those are just minor tweaks to consider, not that your selections are bad, just ideas for you.

It's been getting good reviews and if you want to stick to 500gb's than this is probably the one to get.

I appreciate your comments. I picked the WD drive as it has 32mb cache; the large cache should help with having the OS on this drive.

I think I'll go with your recommendation. This looks like a good deal. I like that ASUS replies to customer reviews on NewEgg (not saying Gigabyte don't).
