I plan on buying parts for my new PC within the next week and I have most of the components already.

I plan on ordering either:

Gigabyte 790 FXTA-UD5 with a Phenom II X4 955 CPU

OR

Gigabyte P55A-UD4P with a core i5 750 CPU

I'll be ordering from NCIX and I have price matched everything I could.

At the end, the difference between the two comes to about $35 CAD.

Any recommendations? why?

cheers

Although both will overclock, the i5 has the edge in that department. Also, the i5 consumes less power at stock speeds. I don't think $35 should be enough to keep you away from the Intel platform... $100 sure! But not $35.
