Computers - what do you mean by local disks?

Hello,
When I checked my computer, I found that I have 3 disks; local C drive, local D drive and local E drive. I don't understand what that means. My C drive shows 15.8 GB free of 48.8 GB, d drive shows 100 GB free of 118 GB, and d drive shows 125 GB free of 130 GB

Local drives usually refer to drives inside the computer, whereby, external and flash drive will show up as removable drives.
