hi.

have had a lot of good advice from you guys but im stuck on whether to go for AMD phenom or intel i5!!???

my build so far; (ive bought the phenom but not unwrapped yet so may take it back and add the extra £10 or so for i5 )

MOBO - Asus M4A79XTD EVO - or which board for i5???

CPU - AMD-P2965 AMD Quad Core Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 OR Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) ???

GPU - XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 XXX 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card PSU -

PSU - OCZ StealthXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply

RAM - G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

HDD - SAMSUNG 1TB - F3 SATA-II INTERNAL HDD

OPTICAL - LiteOn IHOS104-37 SATA Blu-Ray and DVD Reader Drive

OS - Windws 7 home premium 64bit

UNIT - Antec Three Hundred Case

thankyou as always!!!

^ Both are very good CPUs...and for gaming, only at high resolutions, you can notice slight difference between these CPUs...And also if you go crossfire later on, then the i5 would better suit that setup...
And will you be overclocking ?
If you select i5 and want to go crossfire later on, then you would have to spend more on the mobo...
Gigabyte UD4P/ P755D-PRO/ MSI GD65

PSU - What other options do you have ?

^ If you will go crossfire later on, then that board wont run the 2nd card at x8 speed instead the card will run only at x4 speed...
This is the one I said...

But if you want a cheaper option, then this MSI will also do...Even MSI boards are pretty good...
