Hey guys Im buying a New i5-2500k and will be overclocking it to 4.5ghz. Im looking at 2 different motherboards...

ASRock Z77 Pro4 - $109.99

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml...

and

ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 - $134.99

So a $30 Difference. The main difference in performance is

Pro4= 4+2 Power Phase; Extreme4= 8+2 Power Phase

Is the Extreme4 worth it or no?

In general, it's worth it, yes. I have a board with only 4+2 myself and I wish I had gotten one with a better power design.

More phases = more stable power delivery.

if your dead on in overclocking to a great extent, the extra power phases will help(the extreme4 will also allot 8x/8x crossfire/sli if you ever plan to)
