Main HDD is now storage ... how to proceed.

I just built a new PC and my main operating drive is now a new SSD. I recycled my old HDD due to the inflation / Thailand flooding issues for mass storage but it still has windows on it. My question is this; should I put what I want to keep on a portable HD and then reformat it? Or can I just uninstall my old windows and programs that I no longer want.

Just plug it into new PC and copy everything you want off onto external drive or something. Then inside Windows select the drive right click format. I suggest a full format will take several hours but it will scan the drive for errors and be ready to go for storage.
