i have windows xp on a old laptop and wish to remove it off the laptop all together .

If you want to install win 7 then insert win 7 dvd and select new install on win xp drive and after that format the drive.

Do you want to install new OS or just delete this partition.

During windows installation setup there seems to have a advanced option, and then select format the old system partition.

Or connect this disk to another machine and then delete it.
