Multiple drives in to RAID

Hey, just one quick question, Just build an external 10 bay raid array using 2 SPM394 sata port multipliers, 4 empty drives running 12tb in currently tested and working gr8. about to start moving 3 drives 9tb from my pc. these drives are not in raid, each is separate and full of data. Can i add them to my raid without losing data or should i just transfer the whole lot first and then add them~...

When it comes to RAID, I would back up all data before attempting to make changes in the array.

Agreed ! I have previous exp with major data loss and the recovery is grueling hence the new setup. The 4 are already in RAID 10, so Im going to transfer one drive at a time and then add those drives to the RAID.

Yes, one drive at a time, after backing up data is a good idea!
