New to Overclocking, need Tips for i5 3570K

Hello, I am new to PCs, and am nervous about OCimg because I don't want to damage anything. Heard these ivy bridges are hard to overclock, so I want tsp tips on how to go about doing it.

MOBO: ASrock z77 extreme 4


I only want to get it to about 4.2 Ghz and want a fairly low temperature. I have all my case fans and a Hyper 212 +.

My question is how exactly do I overclock this to 4.2Ghz or is there a guide that will walk my through it.

if your that afraid, dont do it

change the CPU multiplier, raise the VCore until stable, i would also suggest turning LLC or Load Line Calibration so you don't have to use as much volts

they arent hard but they get much hotter much quicker then the Sandy Bridge line of cpus.

while overclocking make sure you are monitoring your temps and are keeping them under 70*c which will be hard to do with that cooler.

Alright. And do I use the "Turbo"feature , then OC from the 3.8Ghz?

it's usually best to disable turbo's when overclocking
