Dell 4700 specifications

Hello,
i have a dead 4700, on power up the cooling fans run and a green led on the mother board nothing else works, the dvd drives wont open, what do you think it is, motherboard failure? if its motherboard failure, what could i fit as an upgrade, I have been offered a motherboard with the same part no except the last 3 digets are 607 instead of 604, any ideas?

Have the person who offered you the board install it at no charge and see if it works before you pay him. Could also be the power supply. Check ebay or pricewatch for replacements.
