Hi, I'm looking to build my first PC and after reading this forum and reviews have come up with one. Just need it looking over to make sure its OK. I preferably need to order this today as well because the tax in the UK goes up 2.5% as of January 1st.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: ASAP

BUDGET RANGE: £400

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, soundcard)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: www.ebuyer.com www.overclockers.co.uk www.scan.co.uk www.cclonline.com

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: UK

PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD for cheapness

OVERCLOCKING: Yes SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1440x900 but looking to upgrade in the next 6months to a year

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Will be running Windows 7 64 bit

This is what I have put together coming to £354.52

CPU: AMD Athlon II 425 X3 Socket AM3 512KB L2 Cache Retail Box Processor (picked due to the possibility of 4 cores)

MOBO: MSI 770-C45A AM3 Motherboard (pickeddue to being able to unlock 4 cores if possible)

MEMORY: 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX XMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24 (chosen as it is the cheapest I could find that runs at the 1.5V the mobo requires)

GPU: I'm leaving £50 aside as a friend has just upgraded and says I can have his old card that was high end a few years ago. I'm waiting to see what it is but if not I may go with a 4670.

HDD: 1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.9 ms, NCQ, OEM
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1TB-Samsung-HD103SJ-Spin...

CASE: Antec Three Hundred Black Midi Tower Case w/o PSU
http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=811571

PSU: 400W Corsair CX400W Power Supply (is this enough power?)

Are all the components compatible? Any changes welcomed

Just a few more Qs.

Is it worth paying an extra £15 to upgrade to the 435 CPU?

And does the memory need to be 1.5V or does it not matter?

Thanks

^ Your build is just fine...
And as for your question, no it doesnt matter if the RAM voltage is above 1.5V...Only the Intel chips have a limitation(1.65V) and not AMD...
check out this RAM, it is slightly cheaper and is faster...

And no it is not worth extra 15 pounds for that 435...you cna easily overclock the 425 to 435 speed and above(3GHz is very much possible with the stock HSF)...

PSU - That Corsair would suffice for that setup...It can also handle upto HD5770...
