Another new budget build - but different!

Need a rig that will be a nice step up from my Dell P4 2.8 with nVidia GT66 (?). Need advice on:

-MB/CPU
-GPU
-PS

Got everything else including some new fast memory. Firewire port is a plus but not required. This is going to be our families main PC (non-laptop ayway) and I have little idea where the CPU/features/etc market is right now. I built several PC's in the 486 days but have been out of the loop since then. Want to put the money in the right places. Think what would have been hot a year ago!I don't have any real concerns about DirectX11 unless someone here tells me I'm going to be shut out of playing any new games in the ext 12 months. I don't need to play any games on max resolution but I'd like to get out of low-to-mid rez 1024x768 land. It would be nice to lay out only ~$200 for this but convince me I need to invest a little more to get a lot more. Thanks guys. I've read a lot of the other postings and you seem to know your stuff. Pax, PK.

OK - $300!!
