Grraphics card recommendation for system purchase in minutes

Buying my system today. I need a card to hold me over until nvidia gets out the door, may still go with ati.

Was just going to get a $30 card to hold me over but decided to get something to hold me over for a bit.

XFX HD-575X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Retail - $139.99

or

XFX HD-485X-ZDFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Retail - $124.99

Don't really card about dx 11 as I will be getting a top of the line card in a few months.

What should I go with.

i7 920
6 gigs corsair domination
1000 watt corsair
evga classified motherboard.

  1. I would just go with the 4850. No need to spend the extra dollars for the ATI5750 when you plan to upgrade in March (or whenever Nvidia releases it... I'm waiting for it too!! :D )

Also, you can look at a EVGA 01G-P3-N964-LR GeForce 9600 GSO 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Retail, which is enough to get you by with as well.
  2. How much faster is the 5750? It's only a bit more...
  3. I say get the XFX 5770 and when you upgrade in the future send the 5770 to me cus i need it to crossfire but wont be able to afford it :P
  4. the 5750 willl have a higher resale value in the coming months
