Okay... I downloaded a bunch of goodies :) And I am not finding them in my
game...ACK!

I used the SimMaid2 in install my goodies. Well, the maid put all the
goodies in the wrong folder. So I went and put them in the
C:\ProgramsFiles\EAgames\Sim2\Downloads area. I see some of the things, but
not others.

What IS the proper way and place to put these?

Diane :)

I just read a post about this..... I have the .packages installed to the
C:\ProgramFiles\EAGames\Sims2\Downloads folder and I still can't find the
goodies.

Are MY downloads the ones in the buy mode have the little flower looking
symbol on them? I downloaded a nice living room set and I can't find it! Do
these items show up like with the rest of the furniture or in a "special"
place????

Do ALL my downloads go in here (walls, faces, hair, body, objects etc etc)?

So many questions, so little hours in the day to play!!!!!
Diane

Yes. Downloaded objects sport an asterix on their thumbnail (although there
is a mod to make the asterix disappear). As for things that have not turned
up :-

1. Do you have the colour enabler package in your game?
2. Some downloads are new objects and some are re-colours which can be found
by clicking and hovering over the original objects to see the colour
alternatives.

All downloads (other than collections) need to go in the downloads folder -
subfolders can be used for everything other than hacks (I think) others may
have better information on this as I only use subfolders for my downloaded
objects.

Where do collections go?
What constitutes a collection?

As a simple plain player that downloads a few goodies....what all do I need
to download to make these work?

Collections are a group of objects gathered together. You can do it ingame
(the folder icon under the furniture menu) or download a group that someone
has previously made. Downloading special collections is the standard way of
making household items available on commercial lots and visa versa. There
should be a collections folder in your My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2
folder - just above your downloads folder.

You didn't mention where SimMaid2 put the stuff, but the folder you have
listed there is definately NOT the right folder. Your downloads go
underneath your "My Documents" folder, NOT ProgramFiles. The path to
downloads should be something like

C:\Documents and Settings\yourloginname\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2
\Downloads

If the Downloads folder isn't there, create it, then put your stuff there.
They must be .package files, not .rar or .zip or anything else. HTH
