Settings help with lg 20 computer monitor

I am running my 20" LG monitor on 1024 X 768 pixels resolution. Everything is kinda "spread out and wide". What resolution should I run or is this ok? Thanks for any help.

Your monitor has a native resolution. Type the model number into google (its on the front above your screen) and read the monitor's native resolution from whatever specifications you find. Set your computer to that.

It's most likely spread out because you have a widescreen monitor and are using a resolution designed for old-shape monitors. Pick a rectangular one.... Your monitor is probably 1600x900, 1440x 900 or something like that.
