hi, i m goin to build a new core i7 computer with Asus P6X58D-E and i m wondering what amount of memory should i put in computer in order to do multitasking, gaming, editing and multimedia purposes??? And also let me know can i use memory with clock more than 1600mhz like 2000mhz in this motherboard since its memory standard is 1600mhz...if yes then what i have to do for 2000mhz??? does need to overclock memory or motherboard will automatically clock or adjust it self???
thanks

Unless you do a lot of editing, for starters I would get a 3x2 GB memory kit.

The board supports up to 2000 mhz, and should be as easy as setting overclocking to XMP, and the ram profile should be set automatically (assuming the ram kit you buy has an XMP profile).
To go beyond 1600 mhz though you will need to overclock according to the specs.

If you are using a 32 bit OS then anything over 3g will not be seen. If you are using a 32 bit OS and want to future proof for moving to 64 bit 6g is a good choice. Since the memory speed is tied to the cpu speed in the i7 series you will probably be best served by setting the memory and cpu parameters separately in the bios.
