Can i use onboard video with pci-e card together?

hiiiiii....i have gigabyte GA-G31-ES2C motherboard its shows video memory 384mb..& i bought Asus EAH4350 silent 1gb graphic card...is that possible to use onboard video memory & graphic memory together....i cant play any game with only onboard viodeo memory....so its totally waste...please give me any suggestions....

That onboard vga is using shared memory from your RAM, so I would go into bios and unshare it, or select something like 128MB/256MB, which is more than enough for onboard shared vga memory.

You can use onboard with a discrete graphics card and would have to enable this within the appropriate software (somebody will correct me if im wrong), such as catalyst control centre for ATI graphics cards. Using onboard and discrete is known as Hyrbid Crossfire/SLI, but Im not sure if the memory will bein added together.
