Graphics card for a 300w psu

December 29, 2009 6:33:24 PM

I recently inherited a pc from my sister. She had it for a few years and didn't upgrade anything on it. I'm looking for a better video card for it but I'm on a budget. I would like to use it for some gaming, I only play a few mmos, none of which are really graphics intense. However, I am currently getting a pretty lousy frame rate and lag on them due to my onboard graphics. Because I am on a budget I can not replace the current power supply at this time so I would like a card that can run on the 300W one that I have.

The PSU says DC Output +5V=/25A +12V=/19A +3.3V=/18A -12V=/0.8A +5VSB=/2A
+5V & +3.3V shall not exceed 175w
+5V and +12V shall not exceed 268w
Max output 300w

This is the computer, so far I have only added an extra 512 stick of ram, it's running XP, SP3.

I'm new at this and that is why I'm asking for suggestions. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
