hello i am currently in posession of a compaq 6720s laptop and i have noticed the bios is password protected now is there any way of getting into the bios or any way of removing the password and i know that there is the way by removing the password by completley tearing it to pieces and removing the battery but i really dont want to be doing that.

is it easier just getting my friend to do it?

This model is part of HP's business line of notebooks with enhanced security features. Its designed to PREVENT the password to be so easily defeated by something as simple as removing the battery.

If the TPM on that model is enabled and activated, not even removing the battery will clear the password. You'll need to return it to an HP authorized service center and will be required to provide documentation or proof that you are the owner of the laptop. It will probably cost at least $100, maybe more.
