Graphic replacement for xps420

Hi,
Dell support informs me that there is a current global shortage of graphics cards. I'm having my GeForce 8800GT replaced under warranty and can expect a weeks delay. Is this shortage real?

The 8800GT is EOL, they probalby have to have one shipped in to replace yours.

Most of the newer high end GPU's are in very short supply.
AFAIK, the G92 (the chip used in your GPU) is not included in this shortage.

they will prob send you a gts 250 or if you lucky a gtx 260 or they say screw you and send a gt 240

Does it look new? It has been awhile since Nvidia renamed the 8800GT 9800GT so I am just wondering if they slap a sticker with 8800GT on them for Dell.

No stickers but invoiced as 8800gt. It looked new in sealed clear plastic and ott foam padded big cardboard packaging. Tech installer said it was a likely reconditioned replacement.
