USB drive connection

hi guys

say i connected a external hard drive or any other USB device to the USB port

after i go to the windows USB tray icon and chose disconnect (only in windows , not disconnected the cable)

next time i want to use the device, is there a way i can let windows run\connect the device without disconnecting and connecting it again??

Not that I know of. You need to physically pull the cable and reattach it, or alternatively, reboot. This is why a lot of internal card readers connected to the motherboard can be such a pain - if you accidentally "safely remove" them then they're basically toast until you reboot since there's no way to disconnect/reconnect them without opening the case.
