  1. Was the system faster before you setup RAID1? What are the full system specs?
  2. Yes much faster w/ single SATA hd and no raid.

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
    OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
    System Name MIKE
    System Manufacturer INTEL_

    SMBIOS Version 2.4
    Windows Directory C:\WINDOWS
    System Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32
    Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1
  3. How did you setup the RAID1? Via the ICH or software? If via the ICH, did you install the latest Intel Matrix RAID drivers?
  4. Intel RAID drivers that came with MB and then updated. Thanks,
  5. There has to be something wrong with your setup. Are you sure one of the drives isn't defective? You could shutdown the system and pull out one drive to see if the speed is back to normal. If so, then try the other drive. If your RAID1 contains valuable data, then I strongly suggest that you back it up first.
  6. Are you performing RAID1 on the system drive or on other drives?
Is this a 'software or hardware' RAID?
