I am a beginner to Overclocking so I have a basic knowledge/understanding on it. I own the ASUS Maximus IV GENE-Z/GEN3 and an Intel i7-2700k Sandy Bridge. I tried overclocking the i7-2700k from 3.5GHz to 4.4GHz from the BIOS (currently at version 3305). But after rebooting the machine, I checked CPU-Z and says that I am still on 3.5GHz. This was what I did on the BIOS:
CPU Level Up : 4.600G
AI Overclock Tuner: Manual
Turbo Ratio: By All Core...
By All Cores (Can Adjust in OS): 44
CPU Manual Voltage: 1.35V
So I am hoping I can find help here and help fix this issue. Thanks in Advance!
Only 3.5 when @ 100% load? It won't be 4.4 (with a Turbo multi OC) until there's a load on the CPU. Try stress testing it if you haven't already to see what CPU-Z says then.
Also, if you want a constant full speed OC, you can leave SpeedStep and C States enabled, but just select the High Performance power profile in Windows. That's also a good way to see if your OC settings are actually working because it will be at full speed regardless of load on the CPU.
And for a non Turbo, main multi OC (which is what I do), should you want to try that, go to CPU Performance Settings and change "CPU Ratio" to 44.
