Since you live near a Microcenter store, you can pick up a i860 for $230. One trade off to consider is going with a i750 processor ($150 at Microcenter), and using the savings to get a 5770 graphics card ($165).

A couple of good motherboards are the Gigabyte P55-UD3 or the ASUS P7P55D LE if your only going to use a singel graphics card. You could also downsize your PSU to a Antec EA550 without any problems.

Good luck.

After reading some review on the i5 750, I think you are right and should go with the i5. As far as graphic card, i was looking at the xfx 5770. Is that a good one?

I am still deciding on which mobo right now. Kinda confusing reading some of the mobo since they all seem the same especially the asus one. I am going only single card.

Thanks for the help dpaul8.

Check out the new Antec 600 which is just $30 more.
