Intel core i3 temperature

Hello,
calibration of i3 temp diode seems to be different from earlier processors. The temp moniter program reports 18 degrees C. It can't be that cold. Is there new software or calibration adjustment?

  1. which program are you using? 32 or 64 bit?
  2. I'm using 64 bit, but why should that matter?

    I think I found help here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/254849-29-have-calibrated-core-temps
Seems these digital temp sensors have various problems.

  3. 18C is normal, they tend to idle at about 16C and load at 40C

    No.
It really is dependant on room temps. If the room temps is 29c and you have 14c then you are using nitrogen cooling or that something is wrong with your reading.

  6. Yes that sounds a little off. If have a chance take a look at CPUid's HWmoniter here is the link: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.17-setup.exe These are the same people who made cpu-z.
