How to hook up your tv tuner card to your hd cable box

i just bought a hauupauge tv tuner care 950Q and i have the scientific atlanta hd cable box thru charter and was wondering how to hook the box to the card to get hd tv? Currently i am using the box with the cable coming into the box, and the out on the back of the box to the tv tuner card? Works fine, but cannot get hd tv and cannot record with windows media center..any suggestions? Thanks!!
