Help wit xp download of software over windows 7

Hello,
I am trying to install xp home over windows 7 on my Dell inspiron 640. The install button is greyed out. I don't know what to do.
I think the computer is not strong enough for windows 7.
The cd for sp came with the laptop

Have you checked to see if XP drivers exist for your specific laptop model? Specifically you'll need a SATA driver for the first stage Windows installer. Without those, you would quickly run into more problems if you tried to install XP on your laptop.
