I have recently acquired a new disk drive and have loaded
XP professional on it and numerous programs over the past
month or so while still keeping XP home on the 'C' drive.
I now no longer want XP Home and have changed the 'C'
drive to 'J' losing access to Home as a result.
I now want to change the XP Professional drive (the boot
drive for XP Professional) from 'F' to 'C' - as you
know 'C' is often taken as the default, normally includes
boot.ini etc etc. I have read Q223188 but this doesn't
help - can anyone direct me to the proper detailed
instructions to do this as I do not want to start all
over again.

Alas, you have to start over again making the Pro disk as the first one with
active partition and reinstall or edit the registry replacing all the
incursions of F: to C:. Advanced registry editors have the Replace option.
