So I plugged my pc in and the safety for short circuits cut the power. This is pretty common since my electrical installations are sh#@!$t.But this time when I lifted the lever and opened the pc I noticed something strange.I monitor my cpu temps from asus ai suite and while the usual idle temps were 25-29 degrees celsius it now goes up to 30-36 degrees. What do you think that has has happened??Is this ok for the i5 intel stock cooler?Should I get a new cooler? Finally do you think this would affect future overclocking attempts?

PS.Sorry for my english.

Please make sure that you have apply the thermal grease on correctly and it would be best to always by an aftermarket heatsink for the 1156 socket.
The stock cooler doesn't do a very good job. Also Intel has release a new stock cooler but not sure when they are going to release them and for what processor.
Also make sure you buy some aftermarket Thermal grease ( Arctic Silver 5 or OCZ Freeze or MX-2)
You might want to look for an heatsink that has direct contact with the heatpipes. Not sure what is your price range but Copper contact would be best in this case.

Here is one

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 $28.99

ZALMAN CNPS9700 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118019 $48.99

If you looking for a watercooling type heatsink (watercool ready) Pure Copper

CORSAIR Cooling Hydro Series http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181010 This is help alot $78.99

Now for some thermal grease choices

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 $9.99

ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186020 $7.99

OCZ OCZTFRZTC Freeze Extreme Thermal Conductivity Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835202006 $5.99

Actually I know, the only reason I'm asking is because of the abnormal temp increase.I didn't assemble this pc.It is custom assembled and was fine until today. And thanks for the zalman because I can't dind the hyper in my country.

I understand, I am from Osaka, Japan so I know what you going thru.
But as for the stock cooler I don't like them and your temps should be in the mid- late 20's c.
When I go my i5 Quad Core, I left the CPU at 2.67GHz for 2 days to see it idle temps and load temps
my idle was 24, 26. 25. 27 and at load 41. 42.40, 44.

Maybe you should check to see if they apply enough thermal grease.
But switch i5 CPU do you have?
