Increase COPY speed from DVD?

When i copy form DVD a file it goes at speed of 3-5 megabytes per second which is TOO slow. I know its not as fast it can go because it doesn't even spin. Is there a way to increase copy speed form DVD manually?

Do you know if you have AHCI enabled in bios because i do know that some DVD drives have issues running in AHCI mode.

Over clock your CPU or upgrade it

that has nothing to do with that
