Monitor has blue tint when I press reset it looks good for a second then goes ba

Trying to fix an Acer monitor for a friend at work. He brought the monitor in to work, and I plugged it in to a workstation here. Blue tint. This has happened to me before, so I brought in new cable for it - same problem. I plugged the sucker in to my work station to use as a 'control' - I know everything works here. Still blue.

I went into the monitor settings, tried cool, warm, and custom. I can improve it, but not get it to look better than 'horrible'.

I would think it was a damaged port or some such thing, but here is what is really throwing me off - when I press the monitors reset button, the display is *perfect* for about 2 seconds, then goes back to blue...

Any thoughts?
