Problem: My GigaByte Geforce 9800GTX video card has stopped working. Windows XP reported a video device failure and automatically rebooted itself after a few minutes of busy hard disk activity. The video card is no longer listed by Hardware Device Manager (warning: device cannot start - error code 10). Windows XP is using native graphics driver instead.
Troubleshooting: Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest software driver. Uninstalled and reinstalled the video card. Tested both power cables with another video card. Replaced the video card with an old Geforce 7800GTX video card which has been working correctly for several days now using the very same PCI-Express slot on the motherboard.
I guess the video card is fried. Is there anything else worth trying before replacing the video card?
Thanks
